Do More Great Work – By Micheal Bungay Stainer
What I love about this book are the powerful questions and downloadable templates that help to organize and focus work efforts. “Do More Great Work,” helps the reader to understand possibilities, what’s needed, what’s fastest, what’s easiest, what’s the bravest, and what’s more important. Bungay Stainer also introduces the reader to network maps and with who and how to pivot and write the ending to your work through the template of a story. My favorite maps are found on page 114 and 158.
QBQ – By John G. Miller
This book is about personal accountability. QBQ stands for the “Question Behind the Question.” What? and How? are the questions to ask to help to move things forward in a non blameful way. It is easy to fall into victim thinking, complaining and procrastinating. Miller shares his wisdom in am impactful, lighthearted, and memorable way. What resonated with me is the “power of one,” and how one person can make a difference by asking the question “what can i do?”
Only One You – By Linda Kranz
This is a story about wisdom being shared between parents and their children as they explore the world. “There’s only one you in this great big world. Make it a better place.” Each fish is unique and the book celebrates individuality. The book impresses on the reader the value of being who you are in this world and speaks to friendship, looking for beauty, knowing when to speak out and when to listen. What spoke to me most was how important it is to be authentic to who I am.
